Oh. Hello again. You’re wondering what’s up with the photo, right?
This botched panorama is the best shot I have inside The Eagle and Child pub in Oxford, England. It’s where J.R.R. Tolkien and C.S. Lewis used to meet after class to discuss their literary aspirations as members of a group called the Inklings.
I sought the place out because — well, in part because they had real ale and a damn fine fish and chips. But also because my love of language and storytelling runs deep. You can look up my credentials on LinkedIn, check out my Tweets, or see that I’m a member of ACES and EFA. But everything you truly need to know about me is in that photo. I traveled halfway across the world to have a meal where two of my favorite writers sat and drank and talked about writing. Not much else to say.
